Released in 1971, Fireball is the fifth album by the band and became the first of the group's three number 1 albums. Like almost any album released by Mark II Deep Purple, it is regarded as a classic in the band's catalogue by both fans and critics and although the basis of the album is still the same riff-driven hard rock, Deep purple takes a step back and mixes their acquired style with new elements including blues, boogie and even country influences.
