James Bay's debut follows the flurry that came in the wake of his BRITs Critics Choice Award and EP Hold Back the River that was recorded in Nashville's prestigious Blackbird Studios with Kings of Leon's long term collaborator and Tom Waits engineer Jacquire King.
Of his album Bay told The Sun "This sounds like a debut album from someone having a go for the first time with songs they believe in and a load of different flavours and sounds. People have said my music reminds them of Damien Rice and others have compared songs to The Rolling Stones.
"I love that and I like the split-screen element to what I do. On this side you are looking at something very serene and mellow, then the next side, much heavier."
