Sadler's Wells is a world leader in contemporary dance presenting a vibrant year-round programme of dance of every kind - from tango to hip hop, ballet to flamenco, Bollywood to cutting-edge contemporary dance. Rambert, the national company for contemporary dance, is renowned for its use of live music and is the only UK-based contemporary dance company always to tour with an orchestra.

Turnage's musical style, with its characteristic pulse, syncopation and rhythm makes it perfect for choreographers and dancers and this release showcases recent collaborations with two of Britain's leading contemporary dance companies, Rambert and Sadler's Wells.

UNDANCE (2011) is a project created for Sadler's Wells by Mark-Anthony Turnage (composer), Wayne McGregor (choreographer) and Mark Wallinger (visual artist), inspired by the work of photographic pioneer Eadweard Muybridge. Its edgy syncopation frames various tunes and motifs that appear throughout the work.

Crying Out Loud (2002-3) was originally written for Ensemble Modern and has been used by a number of different choreographers. The propulsive work fluctuates between duple and triple time, interrupted by irregular staccato stabs. No Let Up (2003) is an energetic piece scored for flute, pairs of soprano saxophones and bass clarinets, brass trio, drum kit, piano and bass guitar, displaying hints of modern jazz.
