Creating his own take on the classic jazz-with-strings album was the initial impetus for Joshua Redman's WALKING SHADOWS, a collection of ballads, both vintage and contemporary, that can be as eloquently moody and restless in feel as they are hauntingly beautiful and serene.
The album comprises of 12 ballads, and is Redman's first recording to include an orchestral ensemble, which plays on many of the tracks.
WALKING SHADOWS includes original tunes from both Redman and producer Brad Mehldau along with works by a wide range of composers such as John Mayer and Pino Palladino; Kern and Hammerstein; and Lennon and McCartney. Orchestral arrangements are by Mehldau, Dan
