Jaguar Love blend a variety of influences, including: punk; post-rock; glam; metal; and show tunes - all perfectly defined by Johnny Whitney's extreme, high-pitched singing.
Based in Seattle & Portland, but spending practically the entire time on the road, Jaguar Love was formed by multi-instrumentalist, Jay Clark (from indie rockers, Pretty Girls Make Graves), and post-hardcore outfit the Blood Brothers' bassist / guitarist, Cody Votolato & vocalist, Johnny Whitney.
They met when there former respective groups toured together, and now make intense, eclectic music of their own. It's a sound that blends a variety of influences, including: punk; post-rock; glam; metal; and show tunes - all perfectly defined by Johnny's extreme, high-pitched singing. The group signed to Matador and released an EP in early 2008. Their debut full-length, 'Take Me to the Sea', appeared later that year.
This sophomore effort is the trio's first for Fat Possum, reuniting Cody & Johnny with producer, John Goodmanson (Death Cab for Cutie / Soundgarden / Sleater-
Kinney), who produced the 100,000+ selling Blood Brothers album, 'Crimes', and who also co-produced 'Young Machetes' with Guy Picciotto of Fugazi fame.
