An almost exclusively instrumental album, 'Defamation of Character' is a collection of beautiful songs, carefully crafted and painstakingly pieced together...
Tehimana Kerr is probably best known as Jetlag Johnson, the shadowy figure who plays guitar in Fat Freddy's Drop, but his resume stretches much further back indeed... he has also played with The Nomad, Pacific Heights, Mad Professor, Rhian Sheehan, 50Hz, Tubbs, Brother J and plenty more!
An almost exclusively instrumental album, 'Defamation of Character' is a collection of beautiful songs, carefully crafted and painstakingly pieced together, largely on an MPC, but with Kerr playing live guitars, piano, organ and more.
From touching ballads, to sweeping soundscapes and intimately rendered love songs, the breadth and depth of these songs is more than simply pleasantly surprising - it's a true breath of fresh air from an unexpected quarter.
'Defamation of Character' is a coming of age for a man who is widely respected in the NZ music community as one of the best guitarists around. Only now is Kerr's work as a songwriter and singer however, coming to the fore.
