Eli "Paperboy" Reed, a Boston soul singer who's performing days started at the age of sixteen with a summer job playing in the street at Boston's Harvard Square. Later joining up with his band The True Loves (a seven piece band complete with a horn section who breathe fire around Reed's powerful, committed vocals and classic songwriting) conquering both street corners and clubs with a mix of grooved out rave-ups and slow burning ballads.
'Roll With You' is a vital, gospel-tinged mix of sweaty, up-tempo numbers and aching lovelorn ballads that connect instantly thanks to the passion of this young performer and his equally young band. The True Loves may employ classic soul and horn-heavy R&B but they make their music their own, performing it with the youthful abandon that only a group of seven talented guys in their 20's can muster.
'Roll With You' is your favourite Motown and Stax records livened up for the Amy Winehouse era.
