The quirky Australian chanteuse Sia returns with her first album in nearly three years.
Joining the likes of Paul McCartney and Joni Mitchell on the new Starbucks-curated Hear Music label, quirky Australian chanteuse Sia returns with her first album in nearly three years. Hip enough to feature a duet with Beck on the slow-burning "Academia" but with a mainstream pop appeal that would catch the ear of a Corinne Bailey Rae or Norah Jones fan, 'Some People Have Real Problems' is as sweet and endearingly odd as the cover photo of the singer painting her face with children's markers.
"The album's finest moment comes on an aching version of Ray Davies "I Go to Sleep" that improves on the original by rendering it as a slow-motion, piano-splashed lament."
-SPIN
"[With] a throatier soul sound that jibes with her quietly crescendoing tunes..."
-ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY
"[She] sounds wonderful on the woozy "Little Black Sandals" and Ray Davies' "I Go To Sleep"..."
