Recorded live during their "Someone Get Me A Ladder" tour of 1973 - 74, 'Welcome Back My Friends…' showcases this incredible three-piece at the height of their power.

Formed in 1969 by members of King Crimson, The Nice, and Atomic Rooster, Emerson Lake and Palmer was progressive rock's first supergroup. Starting with the amazing success of their very first album, ELP took prog from London and brought it to America and the rest of the world.

It's always a challenge to try and crystallize the experience of seeing a great band in their prime, but this album establishes a case for Emerson Lake & Palmer as one of the great live bands in rock history. Recorded during their "Someone Get Me A Ladder" tour of 1973 - 74, 'Welcome Back My Friends…' showcases this incredible three-piece at the height of their power.

"Possibly the most "pompous and self-indulgent" of all the progressive rock giants, Emerson, Lake & Palmer outdid themselves with 'Welcome Back My Friends…', their triple live opus. You too can twiddle the knobs on the oven in your kitchen and pretend to be Keith Emerson!"
