'Bazar Savant' is a wonderfully vibrant album from world music legends Lo'Jo. Taking influences from their past ten albums, this is by far the best and most diverse release of the band's career.

With origins in France's popular art form of street performance, this Angers-based group has developed a very unified sound, reflecting their communal culture. Their performances incorporate the disparate influences of Tuaregs, talking drums, chanson, gypsy fiddle, and Caribbean groove. Theirs is truly traditional music in a modern context.

The usual eight piece have invited guest singers and musicians to bring 'Bazar Savant' to the forefront of Lo'Jo's career since their formation in 1982. 'Bazar Savant' features Bunny Barrington Dudley - the singer of the legendary "Mystic Revelation of Rastafari", Mina Wallet Oumar - the singer of the Sahara band "Tinariwen", Cesar Stroscio - Trio Esquina, one of the founders of the "Quarteto Cedron" - bandoneon, Mehdi Haddab - oud player of Ekova and DuOud, Renaud Pion - "heteroclite blower" from the previous Lo'Jo Triban.

Recorded by David Husser and Paul Kendall (Nick Cave, Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode) Bazar Savant has been heralded by the French press as their most dramatic album yet!
