Budspells stem from Aotearoa and Australia. When Kye [vocals and songwriting] first met Ant [beats and production], it was at a shabee/dub dancehall party in Sydney in '02. Their likeminded taste in music and their common NZ upbringing created an immediate bond. They conceived a project that would incorporate their love of soul, dub and hip hop hybrids - Budspells.

Their debut EP 'Inna Sences' showcases their considerable talents, from the soulful opening tracks "Up Liftment" [with its textured horn stabs and fat beats] and "Poison Mind", through to the hip hop flavoured "Feel Style" feat. Hijar of Obese Records. The beat driven "Ruckus" feat. MC P Diggsss of Shapeshifter fame, while the exclusive video clip for this track is also included on the EP. With its catchy chorus and stunning visuals, this song is sure to have you hard as a rock in no time.

Budspells regularly perform around Sydney and their live elements adds bass, drums, guest MCs and a dash of trumpet and didge!
