'This Sporting Life' was the Last Man Down's next album and was released in 1986, and many of the tracks from 'This Sporting Life' are included on this CD.

Both of these albums were New Zealand Jazz Award finalists, and throughout their recording career Last man Down were critically acclaimed for their "quality musicianship and their innovative sketches of New Zealand urban life.”

Ross Mullins:
Ross is an Auckland born keyboard player and songwriter, best known for his work as band leader of Last Man Down.

Last Man Down:
The group was formed in the early '80s after a recording session with Ross Mullins and Steve Garden. They soon recruited various other luminaries including Chris Green and Mike Russell (brass) and Jeff Keelan and Mike Farrell (guitars). Between 1985 and 1988 Last man Down released three albums and toured throughout New Zealand.
