"This is Mozart writing for pure enjoyment, in the best sense of the word."
Anne-Sophie Mutter on the Piano Trios
Due to the huge success of the Violin Concertos, the next instalment of the high-profile Mutter Mozart triptych - the Piano Trios - will be released in January 2006, the month of Mozart's 250th anniversary
Anne-Sophie Mutter has chosen the three finest works among Mozart's half-dozen completed trios for violin, cello and piano: K. 548, 542, and 502. Her partners in crime: husband Sir André Previn and Mutter's artistic protégée Daniel Müller-Schott. All musicians have known each other for years - the perfect formula for creating intimate chamber music at its best!
The last part of the threefold Mutter Mozart releases - the Sonatas with Lambert Orkis, 4 CDs for the prize of 3 - will be released in August 2006 in conjunction with another milestone: the 30th anniversary of Mutter's stage debut in Lucerne. Mutter will open the Mozart cycle at the internationally acclaimed Lucerne Festival 2006. Her repertoire: Mozart Sonatas!
