"A thoughtful, expressive performance of Schubert's multi-faceted Octet"
Editor's Choice Gramophone Magazine Feb 2006
"Viktoria Mullova may be a star violinist but she doesn't play the diva with her ensemble. They're a finely knitted team, jointly bringing out the romance and drama in the Schubert Octet. Not that Mullova could necessarily dominate even if she had a mind to, alongside such conspicuous chamber musicians as clarinettist Pascal Moraguès and Guido Corti, wonderfully sensitive on the horn."
Editor's Choice Gramophone Magazine Feb 2006
An outstanding release from Viktoria Mullova's own chamber group, the Mullova Ensemble. With a group of like-minded musicians, Viktoria Mullova formed her chamber group The Mullova Ensemble in 1994, with an inaugural tour of Italy. The Ensemble has since toured Germany, Spain, Belgium, the UK and the Netherlands with an exciting blend of scholarship and virtuosity .
The Ensemble's previous CD of the Bach Violin Concertos on Philips Classics received high praise.
Mullova's first CD on Onyx of Vivaldi violin concertos with Il Giardino Armonico (ONYX4001) has won prizes worldwide, including Diapason d'Or de L'Année in France and Editor's Choice in Gramophone. The Mullova Ensemble will tour the Schubert Octet in UK, Spain and Portugal in May 2006
