"Mutter is the undisputed queen of violin-playing . . . Mutter, you will gather, is a classic driven perfectionist. It's no surprise to learn that her preferred relaxation is mountaineering."
The times - The Knowledge / 10 September 2005
Anne-Sophie Mutter, who celebrates her 30th stage anniversary in 2006, will also celebrate Mozart's 250th anniversary next year with a series of new recordings of all his major works for violin. She will record the trios live in Baden-Baden with Sir André Previn and Daniel Müller-Schott, the concertos in London with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Sinfonia concertante with violist Yuri Bashmet. Sonatas she will record with Lambert Orkis. The first of the resulting three releases will be the concertos, in the fall of 2005. There will be no conductor: she will lead the orchestra herself.
