Little Barrie are that rare thing: a classic, British 3-piece band as tight, tough and strong as it gets. From the opening bars of their debut 'We Are Little Barrie' there are those lovely raw drums, dampened guitar and pumped up bass, sounding as crisp and fresh as it would if you were sitting with them in the studio while recording.

'We Are Little Barrie' was produced by Edwyn Collins utilizing his large selection of old analogue effects, which no doubt aided the band in finding their wickedly soulful rhythm and blues [as-it-used-to-be!] music. A warm and intoxicating trip, the album invites toe-tappin' with its catchy choruses, simple effective guitar and energetic backbeat.

Little Barrie have succeeded in creating a wee gem of an album. This is the kind of bluesy, rootsy and downright funky album which Jack Johnson, Ben Harper and Donovan Frankenreiter fans will salivate over. Highly recommended.
