Australian-born composer and pianist Percy Grainger, was an eccentric figure and lifelong experimenter who is best known for a selection of exquisite folk-song arrangements including Country Gardens and Molly on the Shore.
Part of the English folksong movement: Grainger collected over 500 folksongs and traditional tunes which he drew on when composing his original and impressive folksong arrangements.
"Here's a recipe guaranteed to delight Grainger acolytes and inquisitive newcomers alike: a liberal sprinkling of old friends." (Gramophone)
