The Boston Baroque's latest offering

Boston Baroque
Two-time Grammy Award nominee Boston Baroque (formerly Banchetto Musicale) has been in the forefront of the American historical performance revival for more than a quarter century. As this country's first permanent Baroque orchestra, it has presented the American original instrument premieres of Mozart's Don Giovanni and The Magic Flute, works by Beethoven, Bach, Haydn and Handel, as well as major operas by Monteverdi, Rameau and Purcell. Its presentation of Handel's Messiah, performed annually in Boston, has been acclaimed at New York's Carnegie Hall.

The Boston Baroque ensemble, which includes its own professional chamber chorus, presents an annual subscription series at Jordan Hall, New England Conservatory, which is a centerpiece of Boston's musical life. The group is also heard regularly on National Public Radio and on tour.

Critics have long recognized Boston Baroque's virtuosity and performance vitality in glowing phrases such as "Never antiquarian...always alive." (The London Times); "You don't walk out after a (Boston Baroque) performance; you dance." (The Christian Science Monitor); and "Radiantly sung and resplendently played." (The Boston Globe).
